NPFL Week 26: Enyimba opens three-point gap at top of table as Sunshine and Kano Pillars faulters

Enyimba FC of Aba opened a three point gap lead over second-placed Sunshine stars of Akure at the top of the NPFL table for the first time in as many games after the People's Elephant played out a goalless with Sharks of Port Harcout. Meanwhile, Sunshine Stars of
Akure were beaten 2-1 by Wikki Tourist in Bauchi. Enyimba
Babaganru's Kano Pillars lost 1-0 away to relegation threatened Taraba FC in their second consecutive match and consequently dropped to the 11th position as their hopes of retaining the NPFL title continue to fade away after lagging league leaders Enyimba by 12 points.
Ifeanyi Ubah United beat Bayelsa United by a lone goal while Heartland FC of Owerri defeated third placed Warri Wolves by slim 1-0 margin.

Next Week matches see second placed Sunshine stars face a tricky game with Heartland FC at home while Enyimba FC square off against a resurgent Ifeanyi Ubah United in a mouthwatering eastern derby.
