Gombe United coach Oladunni Oyekale is confident the side will enjoy a very short stint in the nation's second tier league, Nigeria National League (NNL).
The Desert Scorpions are among the demoted sides to the NNL in the 2013/14 Glo Premier League together with Kaduna United, Nembe City and Crown FC.
Oyekale said the coaches, headed by the former Super Eagles manager Austin Eguavoen, are
determined to return the side to the Nigerian top flight at the end of the upcoming league season.
"We're trying very hard to see how to bring back the side to the elite league at the end of the upcoming league season.
"Close to 70 per cent of the players that campaigned in the out gone season are available to fight for the comeback.
"Just one or two players left to join champions Kano Pillars so we'll get a few legs to fill the vacant spaces.
"NNL is quite a different ball game compared with the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) so we'll get rugged and raw talents that will fit perfectly to the demands of the league.
"Though competition in our division is not as stiff as in other divisions but we've vowed not to leave anything to chance in our effort to stage an immediate comeback to the top flight.
"I think the confidence is there from the management in us to work assiduously hard to reclaim the side spot in the premier league.
"We're quite confident that our stay in the NNL will be very short. I believe we're condemned to bring back Gombe United to the Nigerian top flight," said the former Futsal Eagles and Crown FC coach to supersport.com.
The 2014/15 Nigeria National League ( NNL ) season will commence in the first weekend of March.
